What makes Albion a great place to live? Is it because Albion has more parks per capita than any other city in the United States? Is it because Albion was founded by the forks of the Kalamazoo River - and has a great new River Trail, and world class Disc Golf Course? Some people like Albion because of the ethnic diversity, and great educational institutions. We wanted to create a web site to showcase Albion. We think you will like to see all the ways that Albion is growing things, with our new Urban Gardening projects, Farmer's Markets, and Citizens to Beautify Albion. You'll find it a little easier to find outdoor things to do in Albion with our guide to Activities, maps and links to fun things to do. We'll be adding more to this site regularly, it's just getting going now in the summer of 2011.
In this new "Sustainable Albion" web site you'll find stories about people who are trying new things like making Bio Fuel. We'll list places where you can recycle stuff, everything from motor oil, to used computers. We'll include links, phone numbers and maps. We will have a news feed about Albion news, links to news sources, and invite news contributors to post information here as we get going. Our weather page will show you when storms are coming, or when its a good day to go fishing. And where to get your license.
Albion's convenient location just off I-94 means that this is a great place to live, even if you happen to work in nearby Battle Creek or Jackson Michigan. In fact, Albion is only a one hour drive from Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Ann Arbor. Albion is a friendly place, and this site welcomes you.
